The Coordination Committee is the governing body of the Civil Society Mechanism and has the main role and responsibility to facilitate participation of CSOs in the Committee on World Food Security.
It was during the Civil Society Consultation, 8-10 October 2010, that participants from each constituency (11) and sub-region (16) discussed and decided on what process to put into action to select their Coordination Committee member(s) and which constituency and sub-regional networks needed to be involved in the consultation process. A focal person was nominated, to be responsible for facilitating the consultation, nomination and selection process. NB. Focal points did not necessarily have to be attending the Forum.
Please visit our CSO Consultation page for more information on the focal points who were responsible for carrying forward the consultation process for each constituency and sub-region.
PLUS, we have added a new drop-down menu, which is intended to provide information on the Coordination Committee member(s) elected to each constituency and sub-region, and the process by which they were selected, along with other current and relevant information. Please check back regularly for updates.
